Beleza is a drop-off location for the Central Northside Neighborhood Council (CNNC) Food Drive. The drive runs through this Saturday, November 22nd. Here is a list of the Most Needed Food Drive Items. There is a black crate where you can leave these and other goods at Beleza.

Food Items:
Cereal (high fiber, low sugar)
Canned tuna or salmon (packed in water)
Fruit or Vegetable Juice (100, any size)
Canned Beans (kidney, black, navy)
Canned Vegetables
Peanut Butter (15 or 18 oz)
Canned fruit
Toilet, Facial Tissue
Laundry Detergent
Diapers (baby & adult)

Beleza Community Coffeehouse will no longer use a tab system for our customers. We are requesting that anyone who has a tab in the shop would pay it by next Saturday, November 1st. It was a wonderful experiment of trust for our first few years, but due to a number of reasons, we have decided to discontinue it. For those of you who rarely carry cash, we want you to know that we truly value you as a customer, and we may in the future consider a credit card machine. However, for now we hope that you will continue to frequent Beleza although we will be cash and check only.

Fall is here, and we are excited to comply with it's urging for warm drinks and the smell of fresh baked goods! Here are a few new things happening at Beleza:

1. Beleza is now carrying APPLE CIDER!!! We will be purchasing our apple cider as much as possible from the Farmer's Market. Come in and get it hot, cold, with cinnamon or caramel or BOTH! Get it now, because when the trees stop producing apples, we'll stop selling apple cider.

2. Our baker Joe, owner of Baked For You, is working with us to be able to provide you with many different options of wholesome, creative, FRESH breads, made just about a mile away from Beleza! See below for more details, and come to Beleza to see full descriptions and suggestions for each bread. (It was emailed to you if you are on the Beleza email list. If you are not and would like to be, email belezaLLC@gmail.com with ADD ME). We shall have color photos of all the breads as well.

3. As many of you have noticed, we have three new employees! This means that they are still figuring out the details of how to run Beleza. So, if you are caught in a little line of customers in the morning, or the shop doesn't look quite as tidy, know that we are aware of these issues, they are important to us, and we are continually trying to make Beleza a welcoming, clean, and pleasant atmosphere for all of our customers. Matt, Sarah and Ed are doing a great job, and we hope that if you haven't met them yet you will drop in and introduce yourself.

4. We welcome your constructive criticism (email us! belezaLLC@gmail.com), and take it into consideration when making decisions for the shop. Thank you for your continual support, your kind and patient attitudes, your tips!, and for helping us be better neighbors.

*The days below are the day that you will PICK UP the bread. For example, one could order a loaf of Cinnamon Raisin on Tuesday and pick it up on Wednesday.

*Bread orders must be in by 2pm the day before the date of pick up. You cannot order breads for Sunday, however you can place an order on Sunday for Monday. You can call in orders, as long as they are before 2pm the day before.

We are switching our art opening potlucks to a more traditional wine and cheese opening reception.

Come to our first one, THIS FRIDAY from 6-8 pm at Beleza.
(Keep in mind Beleza closes at 8 pm now on Fridays instead of 10 pm).

Sara layers digital photographs with dreamlike watercolors, exploring moments in nature. "In this body of work I am using nature as a vehicle to explore a range of form and emotion. I am drawn to organic forms then I infuse the work with the colors and paths of my imagination, which, like nature, are also ever changing."

Beginning next Friday, August 29th Beleza will be changing her hours. We will be closing at 8pm on Fridays (instead of 10pm), and at 6pm on Saturdays (instead of 10pm). We apologize for an inconvenience this may cause! Thus, our new hours are:

Also, we have been receiving a bit of press, from Pop City and the The Tribune Review. We are grateful for all the positive encouragement our customers, and the press, give to us! Thanks for your continued support.

We are still accepting job applications (see previous post below to print out necessary paperwork). Thanks to everyone who already applied; we are just beginning to read through them and have not yet scheduled interviews, but will be hoping to do so in the next week. We appreciate your patience and will contact you if we think you and Beleza might make a good match.

Have you tried our fresh Italian Sodas? There are so many flavor options! Strawberry-Lime, Hazelnut, Mango-Cherry and many more. Ask us for a French Soda and we'll add a little cream to it. If you've never tried a French Soda, you are missing out on an incredible drink!

Hello dear friends, we want to thank you so much for helping us celebrate Beleza's TWO YEAR birthday on February 25, 2008, and in the spirit of that celebration, finally introduce our website! The site has been a long time coming, and we would like to send a thank you from the very bottom of our collective heart to our bearded friend and neighbor, Charlie Wagers of Three Bears Design, for building our website in exchange for chocolate chip cookies.
